Cambodia Service Learning Trips Since 2011, we partner with local Cambodian NGOs to care for the underprivileged Cambodian children. Food Saving with Food Angel

Volunteers help to sort surplus food collected from food industry and prepare ingredients for cooking in the central kitchen, then help pack the meal boxes for distribution to the needy.

Hong Kong & Macau Joint University Service Camp Last year, we partnered with the University of Macau (UM) to hold the first joint university service camp. Students can support and empower the underprivileged in both Hong Kong and Macau through visits and services, and also share experience with their counterparts on community service. ICAC Ambassador Programme In 2013, ICAC launched its programme at HKUST and engaged a group of student ambassadors in implementing on-campus integrity-building activities which disseminated ICAC’s message to the HKUST community. Independent Commission Against Corruption
Jiangxi Service Learning Trips Volunteers showed the local children their genuine care and support as they spent time teaching and organizing activities for the children. The students also visited the social enterprise supporting the children to better understand how the local organic farm operates and how it impacts the Jiangxi community. Kiddy Heart Canteen HKUST volunteers play their part by volunteering as tutors for underprivileged children with academic difficulties on a monthly basis. Serving at Tseung Kwan O Hospital The project offers HKUST students an opportunity to serve as volunteers in the pediatric ward of the Tseung Kwan O Hospital, organizing fun activities for children who are patients at the hospital. Tseung Kwan O Hospital
Soup of Love This program aims at expressing love and care to the senior citizens in Tseung Kwan O community by distributing traditional Chinese soups and arranging activities for them. Haven of Hope
Special Olympics University Program HKUST Students was involved in trainings organized by Hong Kong Special Olympics so that they were equipped to be qualified volunteers (and even future leaders in the long term) to assist and organize various sports events for the intellectual disabled. TWGHs Healthy Budgeting Family Debt Counselling Centre The program aims at raising public awareness about effective financial management through different workshops and activities targeted for secondary school and Institute of Vocational Education students. University YMCA - HKUST HKUST and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong joined hands to launch the partnership program in March 2010. Through participating in the program, students would be nurtured physically, intellectually and spiritually so as to achieve whole person development. VIA programs @ Stanford VIA (formerly Volunteers in Asia) is a private, non-profit, non-religious organization dedicated to increasing understanding between the United States and Asia through service and education. It offers a wide range of short-term, international study programs between the U.S. and Asia and among various Asian nations, focusing on a variety of themes, including global leaderhip and social innovation. Volunteering @Crossroads HKUST volunteers are responsible for sorting and packing the goods before re-distributing them to the needy. Crossroads Foundation
Workcamp @ Tai O Community The workcamp aims to positively impact the remote Tai O community through providing various services which benefit the community, such as refurbishing stilt houses for elders, researching on local community needs and organizing activities for local people. Volunteers were also able to get a taste of the tranquil fishing village lifestyle by staying in traditional stilt houses during the camp. Huangshan Service Learning Trip Huangshan Service Learning Trip is a three-year initiative supported with Huangshanqu Education Bureau (黃山區教育局). Wisdom of Wealth @ HBFDCC Wisdom of Wealth is a mentorship program orgainzed by TWGHs HBFDCC, and supported by a HKUST project team. The project aims to help IVE students to build up tangible and intangible assets. The project team will work closely with the social worker of the centre to design and execute activities in the 6-month mentorship program.
