Established in 2003 by Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong (CYMCA), University YMCA (Uni-Y) is a life building process that empowers, equips and prepares students to be future leaders with global vision and perspective. University YMCA at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) is a partnership project between CYMCA and HKUST in compliance with the missions and objectives of both institutions.

Through participating in Uni-Y programs, students would be nurtured physically, intellectually and spiritually so as to achieve whole person development. Students would also acquire social leadership qualities and learn to be responsible leaders. As well, they can form a cabinet to extend their leadership potential and enhance their communication abilities through planning, organizing and implementing various programs and projects.

Uni-Y programs and activities are specially designed for its members to realize their potential and to achieve a balanced development.
