FYS Seminar: Why Do I Care? -- Discover Your Passion through Serving! (Short code: FYS1)

We want to repay the debt we owe the previous generation by serving the next.
- Martin Tan

The underlying pressure for undergraduates is to do very well in school and then find a good job and earn loads of money which will lead to happiness. Is that true?

Many studies have shown that happiness comes from compassionate giving and serving. Yes, making money is important. But is there more to it? How about our passions? How about our dreams?

We are privileged to have Mr Martin Tan to share with us the things he cares about and discuss how he discovered his passion of nurturing young leaders through serving.

Martin is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Halogen Foundation Singapore. He formerly served as Board Member of National Library Board and Chairman of the Public Library Advisory Committee. Martin has a big heart to build young leaders. He bravely started Halogen and weathered all the ups and downs over the years to see youths lead themselves and others well. Day to day, he charts the directions ahead with the team and infuses staff, partners and volunteers with the Halogen DNA. He also regularly trains youths, educators and parents. Martin is a Master Facilitator for The Leadership Challenge® and the only Master Facilitator certified to run the Student Leadership Challenge® Certification in Asia-Pacific.

Come and find out how you can discover what you're passionate about and find a channel to unleash your potential and achieve your dreams. See you there!
