House Building Projects with Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a world-wide NGO building simple, decent, and affordable houses to low-income families around the world, with the belief that every man, woman and child should have a safe place to live. HKUST students join Habitat for Humanity as part of their movement to eliminate substandard housing in Southeast Asia by forming teams that serve in the Global Village Program and other.

In the past projects, HKUST students raised donation, and traveled to different countries to build basic houses for underprivileged families, collaborating with home owners and other community members. They also help restore houses for people in need and convey Habitat for Humanity's messages to their community. Through the programs, students learnt more about housing issues among the poor. They also built friendship with local people and grapsed a better understanding of others ways of life.

HKUST students will continue to support Habitat for Humanity programs in the future.
